From your call to a tow operator in four steps
Nobody in a breakdown wants a menu of options. Here is the whole path, so you know what happens after you dial.
- 1
You call or send the details
Say where the vehicle is, what it is and what happened. A stuck gearshift and a dead hybrid are different jobs.
- 2
We find an operator for that area
The request goes to an independent tow operator who works your part of the metro and has the right equipment.
- 3
The operator quotes you
You hear the price and the destination from the operator before anything moves. Say yes or walk away.
- 4
The operator does the tow
Quick Tow ATL does not drive or own trucks. The operator handles the hookup, the haul and the paperwork.
Which kind of trouble are you in?
- Dead battery on I-285 A jump may be all it takes. If it is not, the operator says so and quotes a tow.
- AWD or EV that will not roll Needs a flatbed so the drivetrain stays still.
- Wrecked on the Connector Recovery after a collision, with a heavy wrecker when the vehicle calls for it.
- Locked out in a parking deck Often a lockout fix, not a tow at all.
- Pickup stuck in a ditch A winch-out before anyone loads it.
- Car vanished from a lot Check the sign, then use the rate caps below.
Atlanta towing has its own traps
The Downtown Connector pushes more than 400,000 vehicles a day through the core, and DeKalb County alone saw 35,860 crashes in 2024, according to GDOT data. When something goes wrong out there, the tow is often the easy part. The bill and the impound lot are where drivers get surprised.
- Private-lot tows have a ceiling. Georgia DPS caps the fee at $228 for vehicles up to 10,000 lbs GVWR, with no storage charge for the first 24 hours.
- The city has its own lower cap. Atlanta Code section 162-227 caps the city's maximum towing fee at $125, below the state maximum.
- Pickup is not always at the tow yard. Fulton County releases impounded cars from the Marshal's office at 185 Central Ave SW, and DeKalb runs a lot on Tucker Industrial Road.
- Match the truck to the car. Flatbeds for AWD, EVs and damaged cars. Wheel-lifts for tight spaces. Heavy wreckers for trucks and RVs.

The line takes calls 24/7, holidays included. Give the vehicle, where it is sitting and what went wrong, and the request goes to an independent operator who works that part of the metro. Calls are recorded and transcribed so the details survive the handoff.
Which counties and cities does the service reach?
Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett and Clayton counties, plus the towns around them. That runs from Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead to Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Decatur, Smyrna, Marietta, Norcross, Lawrenceville and College Park near the airport.
What will a tow cost me?
The operator gives you the price before the truck is sent, and you can say no. Ordinary car tows, heavy wreckers, bikes, RVs and long hauls are each priced differently, so the quote depends on the vehicle and the miles. The tow cost calculator on this site gives a rough range to compare against.
Is a flatbed or a wheel-lift better for my car?
All-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive, electric, low and damaged cars usually ride a flatbed with all four wheels off the road. A wheel-lift suits a front-wheel-drive car in a tight lot or garage. Tell us the make, the drivetrain and the spot, and we ask the operator to quote the right rig.
Does Quick Tow ATL own the trucks?
No. This is a referral service that connects drivers with independent tow operators. The operator we send does the work, sets the quote for it and answers for it. We hold no towing licence and do not run a fleet.
Should I call my insurer or motor club first?
If your policy or club membership includes roadside coverage, call them first. They pay and they pick who comes. When you have no coverage, the claim is denied or you want to choose, call this line instead and ask for a quote.
My car was towed from an apartment lot. What are my rights?
Georgia limits private-property towing under O.C.G.A. 44-1-13: signs must be posted at the lot entrance, and the Department of Public Safety sets maximum rates. For cars up to 10,000 lbs GVWR the tow fee tops out at $228, with no storage charge for the first 24 hours. Check the sign for the operator and the pickup address.
