Quick Tow ATL Metro Atlanta referral line
Heavy-Duty

Heavy-duty towing for rigs that outgrow a normal tow truck.

A stalled box truck on Fulton Industrial, a jackknifed trailer near the I-75 and I-675 merge, or a delivery van with a seized axle needs equipment most tow trucks do not carry. Quick Tow ATL connects you with independent licensed operators who run rotators, heavy wreckers and lowboys. We own no trucks and hold no towing authority. We make the match, and the line takes calls 24/7.

  • A bus or shuttle has failed with passengers or a schedule waiting
  • A trailer has detached, tipped, or slid off the road

Straight answers on heavy-duty towing

Does Georgia cap what a heavy-duty tow can cost?

The Georgia DPS Maximum Rate Tariff No. 5 states ceilings for vehicles up to 10,000 lbs GVWR on non-consensual tows: $228 for the tow and $33 a day for storage. That tariff's published figures do not cover heavier vehicles, and a consent-based commercial recovery is priced between you and the operator. Get the total in writing.

What details should I have ready when I call?

Gross weight if you know it, whether the vehicle is loaded, the exact location, what failed, and whether the brakes will release. Those answers help the operator choose a wrecker, a lowboy or an extra truck.

Can you handle a rig blocking an interstate lane?

Clearing a live lane is led by police and state traffic crews, who set the pace and may require a specific operator. We can connect you with an independent operator, but the scene authority decides who works and where the rig is taken.

Is cargo moved too?

Usually not. Moving a load is a separate job with separate equipment and liability. Tell the line about the cargo so the operator can flag what is possible.
