Quick Tow ATL Metro Atlanta referral line
Wheel-Lift

Wheel-lift towing for tight spots and short hops.

A wheel-lift truck slides a yoke under the drive wheels and raises one end of the car. It is smaller than a flatbed, so it can reach where a flatbed cannot: a packed apartment lot in Chamblee, a shallow Old Fourth Ward alley, or a parking deck with a low ceiling. Quick Tow ATL is a referral line. We connect you with an independent licensed operator, and the line takes calls 24/7.

Signs you're in wheel-lift towing territory

  • Your car is boxed in between two others and a long truck cannot back up to it
  • The pickup is inside a garage with a low ceiling
  • The destination is close, such as across town or to a nearby shop
  • A front-wheel-drive car has a dead battery or a failed starter
  • You are being asked to move a car out of a lot right away
  • A flatbed is booked up and the car is a good fit for a hook-up

What the operator we send brings to a wheel-lift job

  • A match with an independent operator who runs a hook-and-lift rig
  • A quote that reflects the short distance, before the truck is sent
  • Dollies or a different method for cars that should not be lifted by the drive end
  • Handling in apartment lots, shopping-center rows and street parking
  • Honest advice if a flatbed would suit your car better
  • Calls taken in English or Spanish, any hour

Straight answers on wheel-lift towing

Which cars should not go on a wheel-lift?

All-wheel-drive and some low-slung or electric models do better on a flatbed. A car with a damaged front end, flat tires, or a stuck transmission may also be a bad fit. When you call, give the make, model and the problem, and the operator will tell you what they recommend.

Can a wheel-lift pull a car out of a parking space?

Often yes, using skates or dollies if the wheels will not roll. It is a common method for cars wedged between others. Say how the car is parked so the operator brings the right gear.

Does MARTA tow cars from station lots?

MARTA bans overnight parking at its stations, and violators can be ticketed or towed. Rules are posted at each station. We could not confirm one central list of tow contractors for MARTA lots, so look at the sign for who to contact.

Is a wheel-lift tow cheaper than a flatbed?

Not always, and Quick Tow ATL does not set the price. The operator quotes by distance and equipment. Ask for the total with mileage before you say yes, and compare if you can.
